Our colleague, partner and friend Rick Froese passed away in October, 2014 after a brief illness. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. Rick was respected for his business skills and acumen, deeply trusted as a result of his daily integrity and greatly enjoyed for his bright disposition and love of life.
Rick had over 32 years of experience in the development, acquisitions and asset management of shopping center throughout the US and Asia. He was involved with over 100 shopping centers totaling in excess of 50 million square feet.
Rick enjoyed a noteworthy career working with leading shopping center operators and developers on regional, national and international projects: TrizecHahn for 20 years, rising to Senior Vice President overseeing the underwriting and reporting on a $2.2B nation-wide development pipeline; Senior Vice President with New Plan Excel Realty Trust directing acquisition and asset management for its West Coast portfolio of 30 neighborhood and community centers; Vice President with Westfield, responsible for the development and execution of strategic plans to increase the value of seven regional malls; at Gerrity International directing the formation and implementation of a shopping center development company in Bangalore, India and consulting on projects in Shanghai and Hainan, China.
At the Gerrity Group, Rick was the Managing Principal and Chief Operating Officer directing the acquisition and management of an investment strategy in neighborhood shopping centers in the western United States.
Rick was a graduate of Arizona State University with a B.S. in Management and was a member of ICSC.
